LU Holding invests in research-based start-up Quritis with the aim to improve security for cloud applications
LU Holding has Invested in Quritis, a start-up based on the results from IT Security research conducted at Lund University. Quritis has a patented methodology to enhance the security for any Containerized services that runs in the cloud. Quritis automates a previously manual, tedious, and complicated process to create a security profile that limit attack surfaces and make the protected service run with least privileges.
– “Their solution as a clever way of helping companies harden their cloud applications and we see a great potential in this team” says Erik Larsson, Portfolio Manager at LU Holding.
As the rapid growth pace in the containerised micro-service architecture for new cloud-based solutions continues, so increases the need for security measures. The primary container solution, Docker, has to date seen more than 316 billion downloads of their software, an over 145 % increase over last year.
– We have a very interesting and scalable solution that we see a real need for in the security space around any containerized solution. The initial response during the development of the pilot solution has been very positive and we look forward to inviting more companies to try out our solution, Says CEO and Co-founder Hannes Ullman.
Co-founders prof. Christian Gehrmann, Lic. Hui Zhu and Hannes Ullman now look forward to start testing the current pilot solution together with an initial batch of customers, in order to generate feedback for future developments. “The pilot feedback will be very valuable when we will initiate Seed funding discussions with investors during the fall”, says Hannes Ullman.
