Meet the team: Konrad Eriksson, CTO & Co-founder

We’re excited to introduce our CTO and co-founder, Konrad Eriksson. With his background in cybersecurity, Konrad is leading the technological breakthroughs of bifrost. Discover more about his impact on our journey!

Q: What inspired you to start bifrost security?
A:  I have a long-standing interest in cybersecurity. Over the years, I've seen how awareness around digital security has grown, transforming from a niche concern to something everyone recognizes as essential. As more companies go digital, the demand for robust security solutions only increases. This was a growing field where my expertise could make a real difference. It's a cause I truly believe in, combining my passion for cybersecurity with the opportunity to address a critical need in today's digital world.

Q: In your experience, what are the most common challenges organizations face when securing their containerized applications?
A: A fundamental challenge organizations face in securing containerized applications is the lack of deep knowledge about the underlying technology stack. As development has shifted up the stack with more abstraction, many developers don’t fully understand what’s happening at lower levels, where critical security issues often arise. The pressure to deliver features quickly, combined with the widespread use of open-source code, means security can be overlooked, leading to vulnerabilities that aren’t fully vetted before deployment.

Q: What sets bifrost’s product apart from competitors?
A: Bifrost’s product stands out by focusing on real-time analysis of each application’s behavior. Unlike competitors who often rely on manually set security policies or react after an attack has occurred, we automatically tailor security for every build. By analyzing and processing every signal from the application’s behavior, we create a highly customized and dynamic security layer that prevents unauthorized actions before they can even happen. It’s this ability to stop threats at the gate without slowing down development. That distinguishes bifrost from the rest.

Q: What is the most exciting project currently in the pipeline that you can share with us?
A: We’re currently working on integrating our platform with Talos, which will appeal to security-focused users looking to enhance their systems further. Additionally, we’re excited about developing machine-learning capabilities to identify unwanted application behavior before deployment. This will allow us to perform an automatic health check on your application, ensuring issues are caught and addressed before a new release goes live.

Thank you, Konrad, for joining us in this Meet-the-Team session.
